In 1991 Brian Miller had made his first gun and with some friends put on the first display at Corfe Pageant. Over the next few years, Brian and John Boshier collected and manufactured an arsenal that grew to include two more guns and three mortars.
Further equipment was provided for shows by Martin Bibbings, and help and assistance was provided by John Hargreaves. After meeting Ted Cook (tailor) of the 37th foot, the uniform for shrapnel's battery was researched and the design approved. By 1995 only about six uniforms were made, but now, most members have their own and new recruits can be kitted out as required. |
